San Diego Crowned Champions
|
The San Diego Destroyers were good enough to get past the Montreal Harfangs at Seaward Stadium today and secure the 1st championship in franchise history.
"When you wear Destroyers on your shirt, you're good at something," San Diego skipper Steve Alstadt told the press.
Destroyers third baseman Ed Yes was named MVP of the series after he went .333 with no home runs and 4 RBI.
"It feels totally incredible," Yes said. "I could live to 1,000 years old and I'd remember this moment."
The new champions capped off a great season with a 7-3 victory over the Harfangs to win the League Championship 5-3.
