The Los Angeles Stars moved to within one game of the League Championship, downing the visiting Chicago Phantoms at Stars Ballpark by a score of 7-1. Stars right-hander Jordan Oliva had a strong outing in which he threw 8.0 innings allowing 1 run. The win gives the Stars a 3-2 advantage in the best-of-7 Conference Championship.

With two out in the bottom of the fifth, Claire Wagemaker-Pell put Los Angeles in front, 2-1, with a 2-run single. The Stars went on to win the ballgame.

Said losing manager Sam J: "The list goes on and on of things we just flat out didn't do."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Foster Field in Chicago.
