Vikings Hammered by Velado, Drop Game 5 to Kodiaks
|
The Alaska Kodiaks have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Minneapolis Vikings, winning, 5-2, at Minneapolis Grounds. Kodiaks left fielder Tillmam Velado belted 2 home runs. The win cuts the deficit facing the Kodiaks to 3-2 in the best-of-7 Conference Championship.
Alderaan Pike, the Alaska third baseman, contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to make the score 2-0, Kodiaks. For the game, Pike went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
Velado attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Tundradome in Kodiak Station.
