Avispas Win, Move to Within 1 Game of Conference Championship
|
The Santiago Avispas are one game away from a sweep of the Baltimore Kings after a road win at AT&T Park, 7-2. Avispas right-hander Julius Miller had a strong outing. He threw 8.0 innings of 7-hit ball. Santiago now holds a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 Divisional Series.
Santiago used a clutch at-bat from Karl Cooper to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Avispas ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"We aren't quitting," Baltimore manager Brad Carpenter said. "Yeah, the odds are definitely in their favor, but they've got to earn it."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at AT&T Park in Baltimore.
