Browns Win to Extend Series Lead to 2-0
|
Riding the 3-hit performance of designated hitter Jacob Testaverde, the Brooklyn Browns got a road win against the New York Titans, 8-2, in Game 2 of the Divisional Series today. Testaverde was 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Browns, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 0.
Jose Zavala was vital part of the Brooklyn win. He went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. He drove in 3 runs. In the top of the third with two out, Zavala hit a 2-run single. It made the score 2-0, in favor of the Browns.
Titans manager Nate Beckman did not take questions after the game, telling assembled reporters that he would hold a press conference "if and when we win the League Championship."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Brown Town in New York.
