Minneapolis Pins 4-1 Loss on Alaska
|
With starter Fidel Flores leading the charge, the Minneapolis Vikings defeated the Alaska Kodiaks, 4-1, in Game 2 of the Conference Championship. The left-hander threw 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball at Minneapolis Grounds to help Minneapolis take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.
In the bottom of the fifth, Minneapolis left fielder Bobby Aguinaga had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 3rd and one out, Aguinaga stroked a run-scoring double to center. It made the score 2-1, Minneapolis. For the game, he was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles.
Aguinaga called the win a testament to his team's "tenacity."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Tundradome in Kodiak Station.
