Los Angeles Win Conference Championship
|
The Conference Championship didn't live up to the billing from those who thought it would be an all-out battle to the last game.
But the Los Angeles Stars are no doubt pleased by the results, as they have knocked out the Chicago Phantoms 4-1 to advance to the League Championship.
"It doesn't matter how you win it, as long as you win it and get yourself moving forward," said Stars catcher Eloy Laca. "I know a lot of people thought this was going to be a really tight series the whole way through, but we're glad it didn't go right down to the wire."
Los Angeles won the final game by a score of 6-1 at Stars Ballpark.
Laca was named series MVP after hitting .478 with a .500 on-base percentage. He also had 2 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 6 runs.
The Los Angeles Stars don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Buffalo Rangers - Brooklyn Browns series. Buffalo leads the series 3 games to 2. The League Championship schedule will be announced after the Conference Championship finishes.
