Host Glaciers Drop Pivotal Game 5, Now Trail Series 3-2
|
San Francisco Friars left fielder Leonilde Tigre was the difference-maker at Mountain Dew Park, as he led his club to victory in a pivotal Game 5 of the Conference Championship. The Friars took the 6-2 win over the Denver Glaciers to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 series.
There was more than one reason the Friars beat the Glaciers, but Tigre's big at-bat in the top of the third was an important factor. He staked his team to a 4-1 lead when he hit a 3-run home run.
San Francisco manager Jeremy Cooan was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard," he said.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Staples Field in San Francisco.
