The New York Titans started the Divisional Series in style, downing the visiting Havana Metropolitanos at Polo Grounds II by a score of 10-3 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Titans center fielder Jimmy Keener slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 4 and driving in 3.

Some sloppy defense hurt the Metropolitanos. In the bottom of the fourth, with New York trailing 1-0, Leonelkis Prieto was at the plate when New York scored 2 on an error. The miscue enabled the Titans to go in front, 2-1.

"We're one game closer to our goal," New York manager Nate Beckman said later. "It isn't any more complicated than that."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Polo Grounds II in New York.
