Aces Clip Toros, 4-3, in CC Contest
|
The Las Vegas Aces have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Tucson Toros, winning, 4-3, at Western Coliseum. Aces left-hander Jake Latimer threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Aces to 3-1 in the best-of-7 Conference Championship.
Had Lanny Tabares not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Tabares hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Aces.
Las Vegas manager Justin Coroian commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Aetna Stadium in Tucson.
