The Chicago Phantoms got a strong performance from pitcher John Liberty, who stymied the Denver offense en route to a 2-1 win in Game 3 of the Divisional Series. The Glaciers could never get a bead on the right-handed Liberty, who threw 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball. The Phantoms now hold a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-7 series.

Chicago used the timely hitting of Walter Gravel to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Phantoms on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Postseason wins taste oh so sweet," said Liberty after the game.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Mountain Dew Park in Denver.
