Perez, Kodiaks Wallop Athletics in Game 2 of DS
|
Alaska designated hitter Felix Perez produced all the offense the Kodiaks would need in the club's 7-1 win over the Kansas City Athletics.
Perez went 2-3 with 2 home runs and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice, while Alaska moved into a tie in the Divisional Series. The Kodiaks and Athletics are now even at 1-1 in the best-of-7 series.
Perez had an important at-bat with the bases loaded in the top of the eighth, when he hit a grand slam home run. The Kodiaks went on to win.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Perez. "And not try to do too much."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Tundradome in Kodiak Station.
