Gaedels Send Kansas City Home with 4-1 Loss
|
The St. Louis Gaedels got a good effort from starter Carlos Yturralde in defeating the Kansas City Athletics at Veeck Park. The final score was 4-1. J.P. DeVore wrapped it up, recording his 2nd save. The victory puts St. Louis at 20-37.
In the bottom of the second inning, the Gaedels grabbed the lead when Alexander Linares rapped a two-out single. St. Louis was trailing 1-0, when Linares hit a 2-run single off Bill Snelgrove to put his team in front, 2-1.
St. Louis manager Mak Dolnick commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
