Divisional Series Game 1 Victory for Chugh and San Francisco
|
The San Francisco Friars started the Divisional Series in style today, downing the visiting Portland Dragons at Staples Field by a score of 4-1 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Friars left-hander Shaun Chugh threw 6.2 innings of 2-hit ball.
Chugh, who leaned on his changeup, allowed 1 run on just 2 hits over 6.2 innings for the Friars. For the most part, Portland hitters were simply overmatched.
"Things broke our way today and that's great," Friars manager Jeremy Cooan said. "It's important, though, to stay focused and not pat yourself on the back too much. We aren't done yet."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Staples Field in San Francisco.
