Los Angeles Wins Game 5 in Extras; On Verge of CC
The Los Angeles Stars nearly wasted a strong game from starter Jordan Oliva, but were saved by some timely hitting in a 12th inning walk-off win over the Las Vegas Aces today.

Oliva pitched well in the 3-2 win at Stars Ballpark. He threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The win allowed Los Angeles to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 Divisional Series.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 12th inning, when Los Angeles first baseman Roger Rexwinkel, facing David Calzacorta, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Stars the 3-2 win.

"We busted our tails," said Las Vegas manager Justin Coroian. "But we came up short."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Stars Ballpark in Los Angeles.
