Divisional Series Game 1 Goes to Houston, Thanks to Albuja
|
The Houston Aquas started the Divisional Series in dominant fashion, blowing out the visiting Minneapolis Vikings at Tesoro Stadium by a score of 13-1 and securing an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Aquas right fielder Edgar Albuja had a standout performance. He was 4-4 with 2 home runs, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4.
With one out in the bottom of the seventh, Shane Ausmus barreled up a curveball from Josh Hawes. The result was a 3-run home run, putting the Aquas in front, 11-1.
"Every team in baseball loses," Vikings manager Ace Cooan said. "We're in the playoffs and we still have the same guys that got us here. We'll bounce back."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Tesoro Stadium in Houston.
