Brankin, Los Angeles Open DS Strong with 11-5 Win
The Los Angeles Stars started the Divisional Series in style, downing the visiting Las Vegas Aces at Stars Ballpark by a score of 11-5 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Stars right fielder Chris Brankin went 3-3 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3.

A key moment came with no one out in the bottom of the first. That's when Brankin hit a slider from R.J. Mendenhall for a bases-clearing double, putting Los Angeles up, 4-0.

"There was a kid in the stands with a sign that said 'Los Angeles Stars (probably) 2079 League Championship Champions'," Brankin told reporters after the game. "I told him, 'Premature, but I like the confidence.'"

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Stars Ballpark in Los Angeles.
