Keener Lifts Titans to 8-6 Triumph
With center fielder Jimmy Keener leading the charge, the New York Titans defeated the Washington Senators, 8-6, at The ESPN Zone. Keener, who is tied for 2nd in the EC in triples with 4, went 4 for 5 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. The winner in relief was Matt Pontius. He is now 2-1. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. Ricardo Alas nailed down his 13th save.

In the top of the eighth, the Titans grabbed the lead when Keener hit his 7th home run of the season. The 2-run home run off Jose Nereida made it 8-6, New York.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said New York manager Nate Beckman.

New York, at 41-14, is 7½ games up in the Eastern Conference Rex Rawnsley Division.
