The 3-2 Chicago win over San Francisco was due in large part to Zach Gavula. The Phantoms shortstop was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 3 runs. Omar Romero snagged the win in relief. He goes to 2-1 on the season. Kelvin Vaquera suffered the loss. Teh-huai Yap wrapped it up, recording his 10th save.

Chicago took a 3-2 lead on Kanehisa Nishimoto's 13th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Nishimoto hit in the bottom of the eighth, left San Francisco pitcher Kelvin Vaquera visibly frustrated.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Nishimoto said.
