Thunderbirds Earn 3-1 Home Win
|
Starting pitcher Arturo Noboa gave the Phoenix Thunderbirds a rock-solid effort. The Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic native helped his team defeat the Tucson Toros, 3-1, at Legednary Park. Miguel Soto closed out the game, earning his 5th save. The win elevated the Thunderbirds to 28-25.
Victor Moroxio, who finished 2nd in the WC in hits with 185 in 2069, helped out the Phoenix cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the shortstop went 1 for 4.
"Arturo's as tough as he is talented," said Phoenix manager Joe Busch.
