Greens Fall Short, 5-4, at Brooklyn
|
Simone Banatoni, who finished 4th in the EC in saves with 33 in 2075, was locked in. The left-hander led the Brooklyn Browns to a 5-4 win against the Boston Greens at Brown Town. Willie Bravo, credited with the win in relief, is now 4-1. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. Derek Bath nailed down his 1st save.
Tommy Bomba had a clutch at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth for the Browns. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Brooklyn trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run single.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Brooklyn manager Jason Cormier.
The third-place Browns go to 26-27.
