Angels Walk It Off for 32nd Win of Season
|
Benefiting from Sergio Folha's productive game, the San Antonio Angels downed the St. Louis Gaedels, 5-3. Folha hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Angels. The winner was Fernando Gomez in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Wade West took the loss. The win puts the Angels at 32-21, while the Gaedels drop to 27-26.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With San Antonio trailing 3-2, Folha jumped on a fastball from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Tso-i Mak and hit a 3-run home run to right. With one swing, the Angels had a walk-off win.
"It's always great to put the barrel on the ball and contribute," said Folha.
