Phoenix Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
Phoenix pitcher Juan Casanas did his part in helping his team beat the Vancouver Wolves, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Yoshiaki Arai, now 1-0, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 0 and walking 0. The victory puts Phoenix at 20-34.
The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the 11th, with Phoenix trailing 3-1, Alex Ponce hit a fastball from Javier Piloto for a 3-run home run, giving the Thunderbirds the walk-off win.
"It's a satisfying feeling, to win like we did," said Casanas.
