Vikings Spill Twins, 5-3
|
Minneapolis pitcher Brian Burda had a large part in his team beating the Cincinnati Twins, 5-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Dan Tweedy notched his 1st save of the season. The win gives Minneapolis a season record of 29-24.
Alex Rigual, who is the 7th-best prospect in the Vikings organization, came through for Minneapolis with a 2-run double in the bottom of the eighth. The first baseman went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 1 run and collected 3 RBI.
"Brian did a heck of a job," said Minneapolis manager Ace Cooan.
