Steve McFarlen, who finished 5th in the WC in innings pitched with 211.2 in 2073, was terrific for the Boston Greens in his team's 5-1 triumph over the Portland (E) Lobster. His performance earned McFarlen rave reviews. With the win, the Greens improved to 19-32.

Richard Allemand had a big 2-run double for the Greens in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Boston leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a splitter from 23-year old right-handed pitcher John Liberty and swatted a double to left. It was his 13th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Greens ahead, 3-0.

"Steve pitched like a son-of-a-gun," said Boston manager Matt Glazer.
