Toros Score Late to Upend Kodiaks, 4-1
|
Tucson Toros pitcher Elza Ficquelmont was in top form, leading his team past the Alaska Kodiaks, 4-1. The Toros now have a record of 19-34 with the win over Alaska.
Orandy Noda, who finished 5th in the WC in triples with 7 in 2076, had a direct impact on the outcome. Noda contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to put Tucson up, 2-1.
In postgame comments to the Tucson Daily News, Noda said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
