Lovelace in Fine Form in 5-0 Win
|
Doug Lovelace, who finished 3rd in the EC in ERA with 2.42 in 2068, never let the Senators get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Friars to a win, 5-0. The first-place Friars now have a record of 31-21.
Lovelace scattered 1 hit over 6.1 innings for the Friars. With the win, Lovelace goes to 4-2 on the year with 53 strikeouts.
"Doug giving us the start that he did was huge," said San Francisco manager Jeremy Cooan.
