Vikings Best Gaedels in Pitching Duel
The Minneapolis Vikings claimed a close win over the St. Louis Gaedels, due in large part to Kevin Street. The Minneapolis left-hander pitched a great game to secure the 1-0 win. Street got the win, improving to 5-3. He gave up 7 hits and walked 1 over 5.1 innings. He allowed no runs. Phil Payne nailed down his 9th save.

The Vikings got a big at-bat from designated hitter Tohru Asano. For the game, Asano was 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks. In the bottom of the third, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 13th home run of the season gave Minneapolis a 1-0 lead.

"It was just a matter of executing," said Minneapolis manager Ace Cooan.

With the win, Minneapolis pushed its record to 26-25.
