Washington Tags San Francisco with 3-1 Defeat
|
The Washington Senators used a great performance from Les Ralph, who is tied for 4th in the EC in strikeouts with 73, to beat the San Francisco Friars, 3-1, at Staples Field. Keung King recorded the save, his 16th. The Senators, at 24-28, sit in 4th place in the Eastern Conference Willis Briceno Division.
Osbiel Borrero, who is a three-time Gold Glove Award winner, had a direct impact on the outcome. Borrero contributed a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put Washington up, 3-0.
"All in all, I thought Les pitched a fine game for us tonight," said Washington manager Josh Cooan.
