Aquas Stick Lobster with 6-4 Loss
|
The Houston Aquas topped the Maine Lobster, 6-4, in Western Conference action at Tesoro Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Houston pitcher and Holguín, Cuba, native Yadisniel Saez. The first-place Aquas, at 100-62, lead the Western Conference Felipe Solorzo Division by 15½ games.
Manny Venzor was 2 for 5 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs for Houston. The 21-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring single off Adam Shallow. It was his 24th hit of the season.
"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Saez told the Houston Herald.
