It took 11 innings, but the Havana Metropolitanos were able to beat the Philadelphia Spectres, 9-8, at Sony Field at Philadelphia. Danny Ornelas provided some offensive muscle for Havana. He was 4-5 with 4 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Logan Meyers claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. His record stands at 3-1. Havana is 83-79 and Philadelphia, with the loss, 73-89.

The game was at a stalemate until designated hitter Pete Silver came to bat in the top of the 11th. Facing Philadelphia pitcher Savino Dore, he hit a 1-0 knuckle curve for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Havana on top, 9-8.

"Baseball is a wild game -- a crazy game, sometimes," said Ornelas.
