The Alaska Kodiaks earned a win at Legednary Park, knocking off the Phoenix Thunderbirds, 3-2. On the bump for Alaska was right-hander Savino Dore. He had a starring role in the triumph. Alaska now sits at 90-72, while Phoenix falls to 62-100.
Tillmam Velado came through with a big-time hit for Alaska. The left fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 3-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Main thing is I want the team to win," Dore told a reporter after the game. "Just have to go out there, take care of my job, and give my team a chance to win."
