Twins Win Squeaker, 5-4, Over Titans
|
New York shortstop Greg Wozniak had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 5-4, to Cincinnati at Cincinnati Grounds. Wozniak went 3-4 with a triple, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. The Twins now own a record of 74-88.
Had Tanner Minty not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Minty hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Twins.
In postgame remarks, Minty said: "To all who've been doubting my effort -- I hope they saw this game."
