Behind a fine performance from Hisatomo Fujii, the Tucson Toros knocked off the Los Angeles Stars, 7-4. Fujii was 2-4 with a home run and a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Toros. Vismay Falcon, who went 7 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 9 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 7-10. Ignacio Noriega closed it out for Tucson, earning his 31st save.
Tucson used a clutch at-bat from Juan Carrillo to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Toros ahead, 7-3. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
