Rangers Edge Toronto in Pitching Duel
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Buffalo Rangers and the Toronto Juggernauts, 26-year old right-handed pitcher Josh Breaux was the difference-maker. The Buffalo right-hander spearheaded the 1-0 win. Breaux yielded no runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 15-3. Earning his 3rd save for Buffalo was Mike Trice.
Jossue Lopez drove in one run for Buffalo. The two-time All-Star had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Bob Villarreal. It was his 53rd RBI of the season.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Marc Arnold.
Buffalo is 99-62 and Toronto, with the loss, 70-91.
