Destroyers Losers, 5-3, Versus Phoenix
|
The Phoenix Thunderbirds beat the San Diego Destroyers, 5-3. Phoenix pitcher and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, native Arturo Noboa led the way. John Intriago earned his 5th save, after closing out the game. The triumph puts Phoenix at 90-71 for the season.
Phoenix third baseman Min-yul Lee contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a fastball to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 130th hit of the season and put the Thunderbirds ahead, 2-0.
"I was just taking it batter by batter, just enjoying the moment," said Noboa.
