Twins Clonk Titans, 9-3
|
Behind the bravura of third baseman Jessie McMenemy, the Cincinnati Twins topped the New York Titans by the score of 9-3. McMenemy went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Twins. Craig Kruppenbacher got credit for the win, improving to 1-3. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. Antonio Ramires got the save, his 10th in 17 chances.
Cincinnati used the bat of Jack Vizcarrondo to capture the win. The second baseman jacked a grand slam home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Twins ahead, 4-2. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"I had some good swings out there," said McMenemy.
The last-place Twins improved to 68-93.
