The Denver Glaciers weathered a fine game by Seattle first baseman Steve Rice to upend the Arrows, 9-4, at Power Ballpark. Rice was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Victor Meierhold, who went 6 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 5 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 6. His record now stands at 3-1. The win makes Denver 97-64.

The Arrows had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Glaciers going into the top of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old first baseman Frazer Hurley came to the plate. Hurley hit a 2-run home run on a 0-1 forkball from Seattle hurler Victor Roman. It was Hurley's 19th home run of the year.
