6 Straight Wins for Kodiaks

The Alaska Kodiaks faced a tough opponent in Portland pitcher Eliecer Cervantes, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Tundradome by a final score of 8-1. Cervantes went 5.1 innings and allowed no runs. Andy Miao earned the save, his 27th, for the Kodiaks. The Kodiaks now own a record of 90-71.
Alaska took control in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Marc Sanders hit a run-scoring single to make it 2-1, Kodiaks.
"When their pitchers are leaving stuff over the heart of the plate, we're not missing it," said Alaska manager Alex King.
