Arrows Drop Dragons, 5-4
|
The Seattle Arrows managed to get by the Portland Dragons, 5-4, at Power Ballpark. Seattle second baseman Danny Nieto set himself apart with his performance. Victor Romero came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. His record now stands at 7-4. The 4th-place Arrows improved to 78-83.
Had Dave Rivera not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Rivera hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Arrows.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Portland manager Greg Carpenter said, following the tough loss.
