Greens Get Hard-Earned Win, Stop Senators, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Boston Greens and the Washington Senators, pitcher Evan Umagas was the difference between victory and defeat. The Boston right-hander earned accolades in the 3-2 Greens win. Boston pitcher Anton Rochambeau got the win, upping his record to 8-16. Ivan Fernandez got the loss. The first-place Greens improved to 89-71.
Rickey Pfau made it 3-2 in favor of Boston when he delivered a run-scoring single. It came with one out in the top of the eighth. The Greens went on to win.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Washington skipper Josh Cooan.
