The San Francisco Friars dealt the Buffalo Rangers a 6-3 loss at Staples Field. Jason Gonzalez went 1 for 3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. The first-place Rangers dropped to 89-70.

Gonzalez had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 0-2 cutter from Ivan Rivas, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Friars a 6-3 lead. It was the 20th home run of the year for Gonzalez.

"I thought we competed really well," said Friars manager Erich Weatherholt. "I thought the energy was really good."
