Thunderbirds Rally to Win
Minneapolis got a big-time effort from pitcher Bertrand Ivory, but it wasn't enough to keep the Phoenix Thunderbirds from winning the game, 3-0. Ivory threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. Phoenix raised its record to 88-71 with the win.

Phoenix used the timely hitting of Sem Vreke to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Thunderbirds on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Phoenix manager Joe Busch.
