Dragons Cut Down Destroyers, 4-1
|
Portland Dragons starter Ryan Mena led his team to victory over the San Diego Destroyers, 4-1. The left-hander was locked-in. Justin Kurth converted his 22nd save in 26 tries. Portland, now 76-83, holds down 4th place in the Western Conference Eric Wise Division.
The Dragons got a big at-bat from shortstop Ginjiro Muranaka. For the game, Muranaka went 1-2 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 28th home run of the season gave Portland a 3-1 lead.
"This is not a one-man show," said Mena. "A lot of the guys stepped up."
