The Tucson Toros found a way to sneak past the Denver Glaciers, 2-1, in 10 innings. Tucson pitcher Dan Haferkamp, for one, had a standout performance. The win went to Ignacio Noriega in relief. His record improves to 5-12. Victor Garza took the loss. The Toros are now 71-87.

With the game on the line, Ralph Pond came to bat in the bottom of the tenth. And the Tucson second baseman came through, cracking a run-scoring single off Victor Garza, the Denver pitcher.

"Dan pitched his heart out," said Tucson manager Rick Barnes.
