Phantoms Use Late Score to Top Aces, 5-4
Las Vegas got a terrific performance from pitcher Salomé Sieuve, but it wasn't enough to beat the Chicago Phantoms. Chicago won the Western Coliseum contest, 5-4. Sieuve threw 7.0 innings of 2-hit ball for the losing team. Chicago reliever Cursive DeMarco got the win, raising his record to 2-1. Roberto Banda was tagged with the loss. Getting the save was Ricardo Riveron, his 2nd.

Chicago used the timely hitting of Jose Buezo to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Phantoms on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We ground out the win," said Buezo. "That's all that matters."

Today's win puts Chicago at 83-75, while Las Vegas falls to 77-81.
