Matthews Jacks Two Home Runs in 6-5 Los Angeles Win
The Los Angeles Stars did just enough to sneak past the Minneapolis Vikings, 6-5, at Stars Ballpark. Los Angeles shortstop Rio Matthews, in particular, had a standout performance. The save went to Miguel Torrez, number 32 for him. Los Angeles now sits at 101-57, while Minneapolis falls to 85-73.

Matthews had an important at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the sixth, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Stars went on to win.

"When I'm in the lineup, I always feel like we're going to win the game," said Matthews.
