Wolves Fall, 3-2, to Houston
|
The bats were silent much of the day at Fox-Chong Park. But two-time All-Star David Kuthakwakulu produced just enough offense to carry the Aquas past the Vancouver Wolves, 3-2. Kuthakwakulu went 3-5 with a double and 2 singles. The win went to Marty Curtis in relief, making him now 1-0. Juan Pinon took the loss for Vancouver. Ron Gelsomino closed the door for Houston, picking up his 10th save of the year.
Kuthakwakulu contributed in the top of the first. With a runner on 1st, he hit a double. It was one at-bat among others that helped Houston get the win.
"That's baseball," said Vancouver manager Zach Meinen. "Sometimes the other team plays better than yours."
The Aquas now own a record of 97-61.
