Athletics Handed 5-2 Loss by Phoenix
|
Getting an impressive start from Jesus Carbajal, Phoenix beat Kansas City by the score of 5-2. Carbajal yielded no runs over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 11-9. With the win, Phoenix goes to 78-80, while the Athletics fall to 60-98.
The fans who filled the stands at Legednary Park to watch the Western Conference action seemed to enjoy the game.
"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Carbajal. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."
