Cyclones Solve Avispas, 5-3
|
The Miami Cyclones dealt the Santiago Avispas a 5-3 loss at Kroger Stadium. Gurmu Jemadari, who finished 5th in the EC in triples with 7 last year, was the star on offense. He was 2-3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The winner in relief was Sergej van Anrooij. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. He now owns a record of 4-2. The Cyclones bumped their record to 86-71 with this latest triumph.
Miami grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Jemadari hit a bases-clearing double off Allan Tinter. His 48th double of the season put the Cyclones out in front, 4-1.
After the game, Miami manager Chris Stephan applauded the team's effort. "We put some good AB's together," he said.
