Washington Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
St. Louis left fielder Luis Zabalza had a good game, even if his team did not. The Gaedels dropped a 6-5 decision to Washington at The ESPN Zone. Zabalza went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times. The winner was Keung King in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Wade West took the loss. Washington bumps their record to 89-68 with the win.
Elisa Martinez was the walk-off hero for Washington. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Senators pinch hitter hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Washington manager Josh Cooan.
