Lobster Hand Toronto 6-0 Loss
|
Maine Lobster starter Ted Ayres pitched effectively against the Toronto Juggernauts at Ballpark of Portland. The right-hander spearheaded his team's 6-0 win. Gerald Blackman earned the save for Maine. The third-place Lobster improved to 75-82.
Jacob Testaverde had a big 3-run home run for the Lobster in the bottom of the eighth inning. With Maine leading 3-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a changeup from 27-year old right-handed pitcher Kussil Tau and punished it. The result was his 27th home run of the season, which put the Lobster on top, 6-0.
"We came out on top and that's all I can ask for," said Ayres.
