Alaska catcher Willie Penaloza had a 3-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Portland Dragons, 9-7. Alaska leads the Western Conference Eric Wise Division by 5½ games.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With no one out, Penaloza hit a cutter from Jonas Juarbe for a 2-run home run. The Kodiaks, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"This game was intense," Penaloza said, postgame.
