Athletics Curb Toros, 3-2
|
Kansas City Athletics starter Charlie Beck turned in a sterling performance against the Tucson Toros, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. Kansas City is now riding a 3-game win streak.
With runs few and far between, the Athletics had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Kansas City came in the bottom of the third inning, when right fielder Tim Kemp delivered a 2-run single. The single was hit off Taxi Sabala and made the score 3-1, Athletics. Kemp went 2 for 4 with a double. He drove in 3 runs.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Beck said after the game.
